Prepare to be your own Hero™

This class answers all your questions about who, what, where, when and why you need emergency kits. This is the nuts and bolts of emergency readiness.

This class can be from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Agenda:
Why prepare
Consumer Awareness
Evacuation kits vs. shelter in place kits
Items in evacuation and shelter in place kits
Water storage
Sanitation
Office and car preparedness
Family plans and reunification plans
Cooking in the Dark

Government officials are urging residents to have a two week supply of food in their home in the event of an emergency.
Cooking in the Dark offers ways to organize two weeks worth of meals and supplies that can be prepared in a quick and easy manner in the event of a prolonged power outage.

This class is 1 hour.

Agenda:
Check list of non food items necessary for two weeks of meal preparation
Learn how long food will last in refrigerators and freezers
Recipes
Receive an organizational meal chart
Proper water storage (it is essential to have two weeks of water stored)
Prepare several of the recipes
So come hungry and leave full of ideas to "Prepare to be your own Hero."™
Teachers as First Responders

This class is offered to ALL educators working with children preschool through 12th grade. In an emergency, staff members will be the first to respond to the needs of the children and themselves.

This class is 30 minutes.

Agenda:
What kinds of emergencies can schools encounter?
Tips regarding supplies already in a classroom that can be used in an emergency
Personal items that staff need to have at school incase of a prolonged stay at school
How to organize a readiness kit that does not need to be rotated for 5 years
